Automod catches the noisy stuff so staff can focus on judgment calls. Start with modules, not custom JSON.
Quick setup
On Automod → Modules, run Quick setup with a mild or balanced preset. That enables spam, invites, links, mentions, and caps together. Edit each card afterwards.
Recommended first week
Exempt staff and trusted bots globally so they are never punished.
Keep actions mild: delete or warn before mute/timeout.
Allowlist partner guilds if you share invites on purpose.
Leave custom rules alone until modules miss an edge case.
How rules evaluate
Triggers are OR. Conditions are a tree. Exemptions and cooldowns skip noise. Lower priority numbers run first; stopOnMatch (on by default) prevents double punishment.
Debug before you tighten
Reply to a problematic message with !automod debug to dry-run every rule without punishing anyone. Check !automod for a status summary.
