How to set up a Fluxer server for moderation

Brand-new Fluxer communities fail when channels exist but staff ranks, logs, and bots do not. Use this checklist before you open invites.

1. Roles and hierarchy

1. Create Owner / Admin / Mod / Helper roles with clear Fluxer permission stacks.
2. Put bot roles above roles they must manage (and below Owner).
3. Decide who may use dangerous perms (ban, manage roles, manage channels).

2. Channel skeleton

Minimum useful layout:

• #rules and #announcements (staff write, members read)
• #general and topic channels
• #mod-log (bot-only write)
• Optional #verification if you gate joins
• Optional #modmail / ticket category for private staff contact

3. Invite Pluuty and onboarding

1. Invite Pluuty with Administrator.
2. Open the dashboard, pick the server, and complete onboarding (staff ranks, logs, protection preset).
3. Set your prefix (! by default) and smoke-test !ping / !help.

4. Moderation defaults

Follow Best Fluxer moderation bot setup:

• Cases with reasons on every action
• Points ladder if you want escalating automations
• Automod for spam, invites, and scams (automod guide)
• Join gate / verification for public servers (protection docs)

5. Go public safely

Only then share invite links. Watch the first 24 hours of joins, tune automod false positives, and keep #mod-log readable.
